About NextStep Web Workshops
NextStep Web Workshops is a monthly seminar series designed to empower small business owners with practical knowledge and tools they can use to leverage new internet technology in their organizations.
This is not a series on, “How the Internet Works” or, “Web Page Building 101”. We will be focusing on how to use available tools to enhance websites, sales, and communication to existing and new customers. We will be providing a straightforward step-up to the technology that will be relevant today and in the years to come.
What is the format of the NextStep Web Workshops?
Each workshop will consist of two, 30-minute presentations each followed by a question and answer period. As attendees are encouraged to interact and ask questions, they will be empowered with more knowledge and experience of how to use certain web-based tools and technologies in their own business.
Following each workshop, an online resource will be created on the NextStep Web Workshops website (www.nextstepworks.com) featuring workshop materials and additional information, allowing visitors to dig deeper into each topic. Video and audio of each workshop will be made available through iTunes and other top rated Podcast Directories. We will also use the website to showcase businesses who have benefited from our instruction.
All of the NextStep Web Workshops and associated online content will be made available to the public at no charge.
What makes these workshops different?
These workshops are designed to be in the model of a seminar, rather than a lecture or overview type of model. That is to say, we are going to be giving simple, but specific, instruction in how to use certain web-based applications, and introducing new technological concepts, combining both presentations and Q&A formats.
The Web 2.0 movement has provided website developers with a new way of looking at how to build websites and utilize web-based software. The result is a growing list of very practical and easy-to-use tools (such as Shopify, Basecamp, Flickr, Campaign Monitor) that enable small business owners to create opportunities for growth, enter into new markets, modernization, and increased efficiency.
